its my birthday

Today is my big day!!! The day I am officially 39. Oh my goodness i am going to enter the '4' next year. wow how time flies.

I took a day off from work. Hoping I can go for a massage, facial or shopping. It ended nothing near to those activities. I woke up at 9am, mom told me that my niece Kyara was sick. Hmmmm that is not a very good new, so well it ended up I step in to look after her, while mom can work on the housework.

AT the same time, i sneak out to watch my DVD-Delovely. It was a wonderful movie, other than the superb acting by the actor and actress. I love the songs and dance from the movie. Something different from those that I watched in the past.

So anyway, after the movie, my study nor project life- scrapbooking plan has to be on hold. There seem to be no way I can move to those activities.

Only after 4.30pm, after helping my niece MM with her homework, we are ready to get out of the house. We drop by at Orchard Kikki to use my SGD10 voucher for some pens and also head down to Selphora for my surprise birthday gift. Next we took a bus down to Concourse hotel for my favourite Japanese food- Yakiniku. My elder sister joined in. i shall not write further on my eating adventure.

Back home around 800pm, we hurried to have the cake cutting ceremony. My sister offered to take the pic, while me and the children making lots of funny pose. We took around 20 of them, it was definitely fun and the kids are spontaneous.

it turned out pic were relatively funny and cute too. I have to say my niece Kate is the funniest among the rest. I can't resist looking at her twice on each photos we took. This is the ending where we sang our birthday song, getting ready to blow and cut the cake.

And this photo, as you can see, the candle is still lit and we are trying to pose and having fun. BUT wait....my dear niece Win is block from the pic. Ooops we are too engross, totally overlook on this.

Finally everyone are in it ! happy as you can see. We are ready to eat cake. oh by the way, the cake is super yummy delicious. It is from Flor, texture is soft, cream is delicious (not the super sweet kind) just only the berries are not to our liking. It is sour. Still everyone go for a second serving without the berries. Thank you my nieces, nephews for the spontaneous shoot. My sisters for the cake and dinner plus sunday lunch. My parents for the red packet for a better luck this year. ( i do badly need it though)

thank you for reading my post!

alter box

Today is Singapore holiday- The labor day.  I would like to share one of an altered art box that I did recently.

One of my colleagues who is so sweet, she knows that I love to scrap. Everytime when she received snack from her clients, she will distribute to the staff. The empty box will always pass it to me.
I have kept many of them under my table.

Recently i was crafting and notice one fancy pant paper in my stash. I decided to use it to decorate the box for the sweet lady who always give me boxes.. It is pretty easy and fun. I add in a lot of baby element items, the owl, baby animals and stroller with pastel colour and it turned out pretty sweet.

This is the cover of the box, the bubble speech is blank but I typed out some message using Picassa. Now in my mind, I am thinking of adding some small hearts as decoration.

when the box is opened, i made two pages which both are covered by pink and blue. Just add photos, it will make it more lovely.

a little close up of the simple box that I had made. I wanted to add more but wonder whether i will overdo it?
As for this page, using ribbon and dollies to decorate .

I hope the 'mummy' will like it and put in her baby photos and show it to me next time. thank you for looking and have a great day!

Layout- Wonder

Recently I have been doing layouts. It started with a challenge I had with a friend Betty. We decided to take some time to challenge ourselves to use our scrapbook stash.  In order to get us going, we tried out different sketches from various blog and work on it.

This is a layout I took from the Studio Calico sunday sketches. I was inspired by the blank space in the middle and decide my take with a big title on it.

I also loves the die cut (those small stars) that are from Lawn fawn. It's small and so sweet.
together with the bright colours stickers and embellishment from Bellablvd. This layout looks
pretty bright and chipy.

Did you notice that'Penguin' too? It is one of my favourite wooden stamp I bought in Loft- Bangkok.

Lastly the title- 'Wonder' is a alpha phrase from Amy Tangerine. One cool  scrapbooker!

thanks for dropping by!

Hello Project life 2014

Last year I embarked on a new scrapbook adventure known as Project Life. I told myself to take it easy and not to rush myself for this one year commitment.  Unbelievably I managed to document my  52 weeks of my daily muse.

I have to thanks many bloggers for their inspiration and encouragement and my scrapbook khakis that make it possible. I finish one album mainly one page of weekly Project life.

This year 2014, I will once again challenge myself to have a 52 weeks of adventure. Using mainly Studio Calico Project life kit and lots of inspiration from Instagram and various blogs.

My favourite website so far is
1.Suzy

4.Mumkaa.

Just for sharing, this is where I do most of my scrapbooking. I tried very hard to organise my items within reach so that I don't have to take a longer time to find it from the shelf. Somehow I just buy too many things and it is equally messy despite the effort that I put to find boxes and lovely containers to divide all those embellishment.

This is how the mess looked like when I started my Project life. I pull out all the embellishment and photos, trying to figure out which photos matched the card and how can I incorporate  those SC stamps or cute stamps into this 4X6 or 3X4 cards.

This is one of the 2013 Project life that I completed . Looking at those pages bring back lots of sweet memories and a big smile on my face. My nieces, parents and sibling are just so amazingly funny and cute. These are my motivation and hello Project life 2014, I'm ready . Let's start and have some fun!!!!

Anyone of you is doing Project Life and dropping by at my blog? If you do, do let me know I would love to follow you and get some inspiration !

It's crafty time

This is my first handmade photo frame for the year 2014. Its a good bye gift to someone who is leaving to the States. It is a simple frame which main focus is on the Lala land stamp. I have a crush on those stamps when I visited CHA in 2011. The stamps are so cute and I love the design team works so much that I took so many photos of them.  Glad that I finally put them on the frame.

For the Lala land stamp, I coloured them with copic markers. I am still trying to learn to use various colour tone to illustrate the shadow but somehow it still doesn't look that good.

I also added the Prima flowers to make it a more feminine touch. As for the title, instead of using the Thickers, I used Elles Studio tag. I like how it turned out and the title [really really sweet] blend in with any photos that is going to put in the frame.

hope you like it!

Lunar New Year

A Happy Chinese New Year to everyone! Today is the fourth day of the celebration. Most will be going back to work and the children will be going to school. No more sleeping late and watching tv.

On the first day of the lunar New year, we went visiting to our relatives house. The children each carry two oranges to greet the elderly.

Taking photo is probably one of the activties that I enjoyed most. Loving the smile, make this festive much more joyous and fun.

Normally we wrapped up our first day by visiting aunty Mabel's house. She will cook a feast and invited everyone to enjoy those yummy food. Everyone are so eager to ' lo hei' .

The children favourite is visiting our aunt's house for her pool of fishes. They enjoyed going to the backyard to glaze at the fish and a chance to feed if uncle allows them. This time the youngest member in the family Kyle decided to feed the fish by hand instead of throwing it. He was worried the fish will bite him however after much persuasion by his dad, he did it and love it.
It is a great year indeed, lots of rain, laughter , catching up, good food and fun. I better put all these in my project life and also a mini album to treasure all these memories.
