Hello Project life 2014

Last year I embarked on a new scrapbook adventure known as Project Life. I told myself to take it easy and not to rush myself for this one year commitment.  Unbelievably I managed to document my  52 weeks of my daily muse.

I have to thanks many bloggers for their inspiration and encouragement and my scrapbook khakis that make it possible. I finish one album mainly one page of weekly Project life.

This year 2014, I will once again challenge myself to have a 52 weeks of adventure. Using mainly Studio Calico Project life kit and lots of inspiration from Instagram and various blogs.

My favourite website so far is
1.Suzy

4.Mumkaa.

Just for sharing, this is where I do most of my scrapbooking. I tried very hard to organise my items within reach so that I don't have to take a longer time to find it from the shelf. Somehow I just buy too many things and it is equally messy despite the effort that I put to find boxes and lovely containers to divide all those embellishment.

This is how the mess looked like when I started my Project life. I pull out all the embellishment and photos, trying to figure out which photos matched the card and how can I incorporate  those SC stamps or cute stamps into this 4X6 or 3X4 cards.

This is one of the 2013 Project life that I completed . Looking at those pages bring back lots of sweet memories and a big smile on my face. My nieces, parents and sibling are just so amazingly funny and cute. These are my motivation and hello Project life 2014, I'm ready . Let's start and have some fun!!!!

Anyone of you is doing Project Life and dropping by at my blog? If you do, do let me know I would love to follow you and get some inspiration !

It's crafty time

This is my first handmade photo frame for the year 2014. Its a good bye gift to someone who is leaving to the States. It is a simple frame which main focus is on the Lala land stamp. I have a crush on those stamps when I visited CHA in 2011. The stamps are so cute and I love the design team works so much that I took so many photos of them.  Glad that I finally put them on the frame.

For the Lala land stamp, I coloured them with copic markers. I am still trying to learn to use various colour tone to illustrate the shadow but somehow it still doesn't look that good.

I also added the Prima flowers to make it a more feminine touch. As for the title, instead of using the Thickers, I used Elles Studio tag. I like how it turned out and the title [really really sweet] blend in with any photos that is going to put in the frame.

hope you like it!

Lunar New Year

A Happy Chinese New Year to everyone! Today is the fourth day of the celebration. Most will be going back to work and the children will be going to school. No more sleeping late and watching tv.

On the first day of the lunar New year, we went visiting to our relatives house. The children each carry two oranges to greet the elderly.

Taking photo is probably one of the activties that I enjoyed most. Loving the smile, make this festive much more joyous and fun.

Normally we wrapped up our first day by visiting aunty Mabel's house. She will cook a feast and invited everyone to enjoy those yummy food. Everyone are so eager to ' lo hei' .

The children favourite is visiting our aunt's house for her pool of fishes. They enjoyed going to the backyard to glaze at the fish and a chance to feed if uncle allows them. This time the youngest member in the family Kyle decided to feed the fish by hand instead of throwing it. He was worried the fish will bite him however after much persuasion by his dad, he did it and love it.
It is a great year indeed, lots of rain, laughter , catching up, good food and fun. I better put all these in my project life and also a mini album to treasure all these memories.

The Flowing japanese noodle-SOUMEN

Last year i chanced upon this 'Nagashi soumen' toy in Changi Shopping mall. It was selling at SGD20. It's really a good deal as this is normally selling at USD 84.

My mother thinks it is a hassle to put this whole things up and also the cleaning is troblesome. I volunteer to help out and let the fun begin.

There are only two ingredient in making this fun session. The cold noodle and the sauce. Both can be puchased at the supermarket. The Japanese will have eggs or cucumber to go with. My nieces just like it plain and dip with the sauce. By the way, it is also healthy too.

Once it is set up, They took turn to pick up the soumen, dip the sauce and eat it. This carry on for an hour and they finished up all the soumen that we made and feeling very satisfield.

You can get to know more about this Japanese dishes here.

slow and steady

My first attempt for 2013 is the Project Life. In fact last year 2012, I ordered a set from Scraplicious and wanted to try out after reading the blogs of  Lisa Truesdell ,Kelly Purkey, Lena and Ali Edward. It is so inspiring and pretty always. However no action taken and Project life kit is still in my cupboard.

This year 2013, I decided to keep my Project life in a small basket like this. I took out my favourite kelly and Studio calico's stamp, roller stamps, SC printables and journal cards and core kit- (Cobalt). With all these materials, i started my week one project life.

I printed my picture just like Lena's tutorial. Mainly photos are from my handphone or instagram.

I don't really have a style of my own so something simple and easy for me. I just don't want to get to stress and panic over Project Life. It is just like my diary but this time there will be pictures and lots of papers that all. I started with the standard opening title 'week 1' and a 'Hi'

I used SC printables  which I am loving it so much to use as a insert and place my favourite photo. In addition, I tried to doodle around to make it something cute and special.

I also try to use my instant mini which there will be many more to come on my PL.
Also some of my small leftover paper and alpha to detash.

Can you spot the MT tape? I am also trying to put in masking tapes on my PL.

Printables and more printables. This is really helpful and fun to put in my clear folder.

And everything is completed, this is my 1st page of Week 1 project life. Hooray I did it. and I have 51 weeks more to go. Let's see how displicine I am.

something beautiful

I am missing in action for almost 4 months.
Wow time flies really very fast and it is already 31 Dec 2012.

Not very sure what I have done for the past 4 months.
Other than scrapbooking at times, watching tv and reading blogs
I did not really do much.

Today I would like to share one of my favourite pieces of work.
This is one of a commissioned frame that is requested for a birthday girl.
No pink, no cute stuff, only blue and green.

It was difficult and challenge for me. I have no idea who this person is and
"cute' is totally out was tough. My client trusted me so much that she is confident that
it is going to be a very nice one. Given 2 weeks to brainstorm and working on it.
This is what I have done.

I added a little vintage girl from 'Melissa Frances' and some blink from "Prima"
A Paris tower decoration paper which my friend gave it to me from Japan.
I also added the little bird house which  I had from a class. Layering is one of the methods
that I applied for this frame.

butterflies are cut from DCWV paper. I was a little concern that the butterflies are huge
but it turn out pretty good on the frame. Also did you notice the wording? I did some stamping and embossing.

The charm on the ribbon is from Websters. I have this love hate relationship with Webster. I love their products so much but somehow I just can't blend it with my style. Glad that it turned out so well on this frame.

My client is extreme happy with it. I do hope the birthday day is thrilled and happy too.

Hope this pretty frame does brighten your days too!
Enjoy the last day of 2012 and have a Happy New Year.
I should be going to work and back home watching my korean variety and drama.

See you in 2013!

Hello Mini

I learnt to make this simple mini album from Marion Smith. Tried searching the video from Prima U stream but can't seem to find it. sorry for those who wants to make this. It is 3'X4". I used the 6"X6" Yuki paper pad.

As mentioned it is a very simple book so I made this with my three nieces at different time. They trimmed the paper and pick their own embellishment. I tried to make it simple and easy for them so that they will enjoy making it.

Sorry for the blur pictures, I took it without flash on a dark and cloudy day. If there is more sunlight, the pictures might be better. Here is the mini album done by Min Min. I gave her the Yuki chipboard and some October Afternoon stickers and this is what she came up with.

Each page comes with a mini pocket and they can put their favourite pictures of small little
paper in it. Min has no ideas what to do with it so we put the extra photos inside the pocket.

I still in love with Prima's Yuki paper. Bright, colour and so cheerful. It just blend well with the photos. If anyone interested in making, I can try to make it into a tutorial.

As for the words with label, I used DYMO to print out the word. A manual machine which I need to press.

I hope you enjoy veiwing and please try it out. It is very fun!

Lovely mail

This lovely webster mail came in last month July. I was so elated to see this box when I came back home. It's probably the best buy I have online.

I can't remember how much it is but looking at those beautiful product just made me extrememly happy. Especially it came just a few days before my birthday.

Let's take a look at those items closely.

These are the four 6X6 paper pad. I still have no idea what I want to do with it. maybe a card or mini album. With pictures of my nieces and nephew might make the paper look so much better.

My niece loves bling bling. I am still a little lost what to do with it. Still the colour
and the design just melt my heart.
woo wow 25yards of ribbon. My goodness that's a lot. any ideas what I can do with this?
This flowers and charms are just so sweet. thinking of black and white pictures might
able to make those charm stands out well. There is also 12 pieces of 12X12 diecut which I did not take any picture.

Hope you enjoy viewing my online shopping goodies. My next online good is a Kitty....
should be coming to me soon in Septemember. I shall blog about it next time.
thanks for dropping by.

let's count down...

Just another 8 more days, i will be taking a plane to somewhere far away. It is a new place to explore and discover. Cool weather, very greenery and good food!

This time i will like to bring my Smash and Instant Mini. I will try to pack light and take lots of pictures. Do you know where country ?

Not sure anyone will leave a comment, if anyone does and got it correct, yes I will give you a small present. Guessing entry will close on 30 August. So take sometime and make a guess.

One of the preparation is renew the passport for the two young one. We dressed the girls up and make
them stand behind the wall and started to click click click.

These 'passport' pictures are pretty entertaining especially K. It's so funny. I did ask her why she close her mouth and her reply is 'my dad asked me to'

This is pictures of W. I printed out one of this pic for scrapping and her reply is' this look sexy, i don't like it'. I was pretty alarmed by her remark. She was dressed in a ballerina dress and she looked so sweet.

Passports are ready for collection now. it's time to get ready for our road trip and adventure!

Misting guest book

Last Saturday I was invited to my colleague's wedding. At the same time I was asked to design her guestbook. She told me that she would like to have lots of space for her guests to write on it. So I decided to use misting, masking and stamping on her book. In case she does not like it, I actually sprayed on the cardstock so that she can paste on the book if she like it.  Below are the pics of the pages I had made.

First I used the distress ink to distress the edge, and followed by misting a few colours. for the below pic, I used the paper Dollie as mask and spray over it. Use a phrase stamp from Amy Tangerine and a fawn stamp from October Afternoon and the circle dot stamp from Studio Calico.

Once again I mist and then i place a Heidi Swapp flower mask and that is how the page is created. The rest of the pages are relatively the same method just different colours.

Loving the birdcage stamp from the basic -grey.
the heart shape stamp from the Studio /calico Kit and the leave image are from the basic grey's stamp

The silhouette is from the Maya road and love life is from Ali Edward

I feel so satisfield misting and using those stamp and mask supplies that was placed on the shelf. My next challenge is to use 10 piece of pattern paper to make a mini album and the remaining is to scrap a few layout.

Need to think think think for some ideas.
